FAQ
Do you mind if I start my own virtual quilting bee?
No, I don’t mind at all. I knew this group would stretch the creativity of it’s members and who doesn’t need a good stretch sometimes.
Okay, so how does it work?
Each month one of the members (that month’s designer) sends me the fabric(s) for their quilt. I asked everyone to send at least one fat quarter but often they send two pieces. I then distribute the fabrics into envelopes and send them on to the other members, keeping one set of fabric for myself. Members then have until the end of the month to create a block that fits in the design idea of the designing member for that month and send it back to me. I gather all 11 blocks together and send them to the designing member who sews them into a quilt, two quilts, twelve pillows, or shoves them in a closet.
How big are your blocks?
Everyone creates a 12.5″x12.5″ block so that it will finish to 12″x12″ when sewn together.
Why haven’t I seen any finished quilts?
At this point not everyone has 12 finished blocks even if they designed their quilts months ago. We’re all busy moms and occasionally one of us gets behind. I think you’ll start to see finished quilts soon.
Why can’t I join the flickr group?
Membership in the group is limited to the 12 women participating but please check back to see the photos of our progress. If you are interested in following our progress please subscribe to the group’s RSS feed.

This is just such a fantastic idea! Like you I have no real world craft-y friends. How great to share with virtual ones. Am loving the teasers on Flickr too.
What a fun idea. I am looking forward to watching your progress on this. I love the blocks you have shown so far on flickr! Such great colors!
I love all your quilts and your photos are awesome. How do you get involved in something like this. I am new to this blogging and “on-line” quilting scene. I’ll be back to check on your progress. You’ve been added to my favorites!
