Wow, a girl asks for kale recipes and you guys deliver. I think we could get kale every week this season and have enough recipes. We’re going to start with soup. That’s on the agenda for today although I think I’ll make the soup, taste it, then freeze it because we’re in the midst of a heat wave here — 101′ predicted for today. We had a crazy busy weekend culminating in dinner at our house last night for 13 people followed by Katie’s choir concert at church. There’s nothing cuter than a whole bunch of little kids singing with hand motions.
The weekend started with a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Nicole. My first nephew is expected to make his appearance in early July. I knit these baby booties for him to wear once he gets here. The pattern is by Bekah Knits and there is an a adorable baby girl version where the moccasins are mary janes. One of Nicole’s friends couldn’t believe I made them — apparently the friend knits, but only scarves — and Nicole said, Yeah, she can make real stuff that you wear. I mean she made me a sweater for Christmas and I’ve really worn it. Totally cracked me up.
