A Hybrid

I might be a bad sister for delivering my brother’s Christmas gift six months late but I think I made up for it by knitting said 6’4″ brother a sweater. Wow, I’m proud of that thing. It’s a seamless hybrid and the instructions can be found in Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Knitting Without Tears. There was plenty of math involved in this one but it fits Bob perfectly — plus I kind of like math. If you’re interested in the super specifics like how many stitches I cast-on, etc. check out the sweater in ravelry. That EZ sure knew what she was doing.

The Big Seamless Hybrid
Pattern: Seamless Hybrid by Elizabeth Zimmermann
Yarn: Asti by Alpaca With a Twist
Yardage: less than eight 128 yard skeins
Needles: US size 10.5
Size : n/a
Modifications: Elizabeth Zimmermann’s instructions are more a formula than a pattern. To see the specifics of how many stitches I cast on, etc. visit the sweater in ravelry.

Nicely done. YOu are a great sister. I’m about 95% done with the one for my husband, who is 6’5″ and a BIG man. I feel your knitting pain

That must feel great to get that accomplished! I gave my dad a sweater a few years ago that he then actually received the following Christmas, so you beat me by six months. Men’s sweaters take a looooong time!

Wow! Great job, I am just learning to knit – working on scarves, hats and fingerless gloves – looking forward to the day I attempt a sweater and yours is great motivation.
