My life is seldom still — the urchins make sure of that — but this week Martha hosted a week of still photos. Everyone’s photos have been amazing. I’ve tried to take a photo everyday and really think about my photographic process. Our studio is not up right now so all of my photos were taken with natural light — taking still life photos is much easier when you can control the light. Here are my contributions:

Tried Shooting from Above

Tried Closer Still

More with the Backpacks

Clover Dish and Soap

Peonies

Have a great weekend everyone, I hope you find some still moments. Here are some of my favorites from this week:

I love the red wall with the stripey paper and peg rail (the bags are mighty lovely too). That is just exactly something I would pick for my house.

I love how beautiful yarn and needles just sitting waiting to be worked on turn out to be decorative as well.

I love all the stillness. I could use some of that in my daily life.

Lovely! I enjoyed still week too. It’s interesting to contemplate what still actually means, too… not just still life, but that internal stillness. Loving the peaceful calm of it.
