For a while after the holidays we got a break from the relentless birthday party circuit but it seems to have started back up again. So this Spring Katrina’s birthday girl friends will be getting this:
The basket, rolling pin, whisk, and cookie cutters are all from the Target dollar bins. The glass jars are from World Market and we filled them with color-coordinated sprinkles from our pantry. The apron — modeled by Katrina — was a quick sew and turned out pretty cute with gingham-ish ties and ball fringe. The main fabric is an older print, Buckarette, by Alexander Henry. I bought enough of everything to make three sets — one for a party today and two more for the granny gift closet . I am actually making four aprons though, my little bakerette needs an apron too.

awesome gift idea! of course, her own apron is a must
very cute with the fringe.
What a cute gift! I need to start a granny gift closet, too!!
cute! what a great idea to make multiples. my big goal for next week is to at least catch up on gifts that i need to make and i am determined to set a few things aside for my own granny gift closet.
What a perfect gift for boys or girls. Thanks for the great idea!
Great idea - it’s always a chore coming up with kids’ birthday presents - now I have a good reason to go to Target. Thanks for the idea!!
What a wonderful idea! I want a pink rolling pin!
it’s a great gift idea!
What a great idea! You’ve got to love that gift closet, especially when you fill it with gifts made from the dollar bins! We seem to only have boy birthdays- wonder how I could translate that color-wise- my boy LOVES to bake.
Such a cute present! And not just for little girls - who wouldn’t enjoy receiving it?!
We did the same gift for my cousins’ girls and they loved it. I think a granny box is a great idea, our is called the once and future gift box. Here is another cute apron idea for little folks:
