A Baby Gift

I don’t have a model for baby clothes like I used to. So, sorry for the flat shots but this here is a shower gift for my friend who is having a baby. The dress pattern is #1 from the spring issue of Ottobre (3/2007). The fabric is by Heather Ross. The detail on the bodice was just an X pattern done on my sewing machine. The back ties on each side so it should fit the wee one for a while. The bolero is knit from Blue Sky Organic Cotton and the pattern is from Leigh Radford’s One Skein. Both of these came together really quickly and I just love them together. I hope the new mom does too.

Yardage: less than one yard
Size: 62

Baby Bolero
Pattern: Baby Bolero from Leigh Radford’s One Skein
Yarn: blue sky alpacas organic cotton, in colorway 82
Yardage: less than one 150 yard skein
Size: small
Modifications: I joined the shoulders using a three-needle bind-off and picked up the stitches for the sleeves and knit them from the top down.
