I bought this Alexander Henry fabric back in September from Sew, Mama, Sew with the intention of making Katie a dress for Halloween. We have a few annual events that don’t require costumes and I had seen this outfit on etsy and was inspired. A little more than a week before Halloween and hmm, no dress yet. Determined, I plugged away on Wednesday while the kids were at preschool and about four hours later a Halloween dress — really an underdress and an overdress — was realized. Now I just need to get to the costumes.

This is so sweet. That Alexander Henry print is darling!!
I really loved this dress when I saw it in the pattern book but didn’t even think about it in a simple cotton! What a cute cute cute cute cute cute dress! It’s very much inspired me! I can see this in Christmas cottons!
I love that orange polka dot fabric. katie is such a cutie.
Great job on this project. She looks adorable and I love the colorful pumpkin fabric.
So cute!
How adorable! What a lucky little girl!
That is soooo cute. I would love to do something like that in 4 hours!! I’m scared to even start a pot holder I have cut out!! Lovely, and Katie too!
How delightful this dress idea is! Oh, I wish I’d seen this sooner and then I could have made something for myself for tomorrow (the BIG day) — I work at my son’s school and he begged me NOT to dress up (most adults here do) but this would have been a nice compromise! Maybe next year….
